The Raphia is a genus of palm trees of the family ARECACEAE found in swampy environments and along rivers.

Monocarpic plant or hapaxanth, the species Raphia FARINIFERA native to Madagascar gives its leaves a vegetable fiber which, by extension, bears the name of raffia.
